944. Antique Pair Bronzed Ormolu Busts William Ewart Gladstone Benjamin Disraeli 19Ct


Stunning Pair of English Patinated Bronzed Metal Library Busts made in Birmingham by Wright and Fletcher Foundry, dated 1878 offered with associated heavy gauge ornately cast Ormolu Bronze bases of similar period, possibly of French origin. 

Benjamin Disraeli First Earl of Beaconsfield, was the Conservitive Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland on two occasions, first in 1868 and then between 1874 and 1880. 

William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898) was a British Statesman and liberal politian. In a career lasting over sixty years, he served for twelve years as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, spread over four non-conssecutive terms from 1868 to 1894. 

Condition: Good condition with nice patination, the bases with original ormolu with light staining and some holes on top which are not visible when busts are in place. Mr Gladstone has very short dent on top of his head (difficult to take pic as its very small) also a very small hole in the socle.
