707. Antique Pair Green Wedgwood Jasper Ware Urns Vases Mythological Scenes 19th Cent

An Exceptionally Fine Example of an Early Pair of English Jasper Ware Green Dip Wedgwood Vases of Ovoid Form supported by decorative circular spreading bases. 

Circa 1860.  

Decorated with Neo-Classical reliefs in white on green dip ground. Each vase with a central large relief depicting various Muses, back views are similar, the reliefs around each shoulder depicts grasses which is quite unusual for Wedgwood pieces. Both vases have twin white jasper Lion mask ring handles and foliate borders to rims and bases. 

Condition: Superb condition for such early pieces, no restoration or losses anywhere. Constructed in two sections, with the socles being bolted to main bodies, this model never had a cover. 

Impressed base marks WEDGWOOD and other indistinct markings.
