441. Pair English Ormolu Bronze Argand Lamps Thomas Greensill 19thCt


An Exceptionally Fine Quality Pair English Ormolu & Patinated Bronze Argand Single Light Table Lamps by London Lamp Manufacturers Thomas Greensill The Strand London, now converted to electricity, made during the mid Nineteenth Century.  

The ormolu turned standard supporting an ornately cast shallow reservoir with a leafy acorn bud finial, issuing a candlearm with a hand cut crystal ovoid-form shade, all raised on a patinated bronze acanthus leaf cast circular base. 

Condition:  Good condition, these Lamps have been professionally re-gold plated and bronze patinated, re-wired for electricity using high end woved covered cable. Both with plaque "T GREENSILL PATENT 160 STRAND" Back and front views are similar see image. Each fitted with one small bayonet bulb socket.
