Absolutely stunning French Ebonised Lady's Jewlery Casket of Museum quality, made in France during the third quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
The outer case lavishly adorned with a central Italian Micro Mosiac depicting an Architectural scene within a circular of Lapis Lazuli and a lavish cast ormolu surround. The sides of lid and front area with Malachite and Lapis Lazuli decorations encased within lavish cast ormolu surrounds. The casket is raised on its original four toupie supports.
Condition: Good condition with nice surface patination, some surface scratches and some “bruising” on the outside as shown, see images. Lock is present with a later key which does not turn. The interior has been re-lined with a luxury navy woven velvet fabric, nicely done.
