183. Grand Tour Classical Bronze Figure Infant Bacchus attrib. Egisto Rossi 19th Century


 

An Attractive Grand Tour Patinated Cast Bronze Figure of an Infant Bacchus seated on a naturalistic base, holding a wine vessel on her left hand, of outstanding quality and medium proportions, possibly after Egisto Rossi 1856-1916, third quarter of the Nineteenth Century, possibly earlier. 

This superb piece with stylish naturalistic cast detail is raised on its rectangular bronze base with very attractive ormolu toupie supports.  

Condition: Good condition, no losses, nice surface patination, ormolu feet have been professionally re-gold plated and bronze patinated. No foundry marks visible.
