Superb Example of a French Ormolu and Patinated Bronze Heavy Gauge Twin Ink Desk Stand of rectangular outline, circa 1875, possibly earlier.  

The lavish cast Ormolu frame with Acanthus leaf detail in Art Nouveau taste surrounds a bronze plate complete with its original carry handle, lidded stamp holder and two led crystal ink pots with decorative covers. The standish is raised on four bun supports. 

Condition: Superb condition with no losses or dents. Re-gilt and re-bronze patinated.
