Stunning Example of a pair of French Ormolu mounted well veined Sarrancolin or Brecca Africano Marble Twin Handle Urns of museum quality, after a model by Lean Julienne (1686-1766). Mid to late Nineteenth Century.
Each exquisitely surmounted by a domed secured lid with berried ormolu finial. The main ovoid formed body with everted finely cast ormolu pierced surround ending an acanthus leaf cup above a turned socle with beaded surround and plain square base. Back and front views are similar with decorative swags and twin ram’s head masks.
Condition: Good condition for such early pieces with no losses, ormolu mounts have been professionally re-gold plated.
