906. Rare Anglo Indian Carved Ebony Walking Stick Superb
Stunning Victorian Anglo-Indian Nagina Carved Ebony Walking Cane, intricately hand carved all over with scrolls and flowers and foliage, in our opinion it originates from Nagina, a town in the Bijnor District in the United Provinces of Eastern India, last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
The large ornate cast knopped grip in Indian Silver (see image with marks) with embossed landscape scene depicting animals in a forest setting above a tapering circular shaft with polished brass ferrule.
Condition: Good condition with nice patination on wood, no losses to silver or carvings.
*These items are sometimes mistaken for Irish Bog Oak.
