925. Rare Verner Brass Pocket Compass J.H. Steward 1895


Rare Verner Polished Brass & Steele Pocket Compass (Pattern III) made by J.H. Steward 406 Strand, London.

With its distinctive compass card markings - the NORTH direction (black diamond) could be easily distinguished in darkness. When this compass was produced luminous paint did not exist.

 

Condition: Perfect working order, engraved at back: No.1241 Verner Compass patent J.H. Steward. 406 Strand, London.

Research dates this compass to 1895.

 

Height: (entire) 3" (7.5cm). Width: 2.25" (5.75cm).
