Frank Hider 1861 - 1933

A Very Impressive Example of a Pair of Late Nineteenth Century English Oil Paintings on Canvas one depicting a view of The Trossachs Woodland Glen in the Sterling area of Scotland.

The other is inscribed verso " In the Valley of  Ffestiniog North Wales"

complete with fine gilt later frames.

Both signed F. Hider.

Condition: Both Paintings have been professionally restored, the lavish gilt frames are of a later date.

Frank Hider was born in 1861, he painted in oils and sometimes watercolours views of coastal and rural landscapes. He lived at Forest Gate in Essex England for a number of years, he also painted in parts of Europe and for a short time in Ireland, an Irish painting by him has never been recorded for sale.
