451. Chinese Imari Porcelain and Ormolu Centerpiece Late 18thCt

An Exceptionally Fine Quality Chinese Export Porcelain Twin Handle Table or Mantle Centerpiece of outstanding quality and of medium proportions, made during the last quarter of the Eighteenth Century.  

The circular porcelain bowl hand decorated in the Chinese Imari palette in colours of iron red and cobalt blue with gilt on an off white ground. The twin ormolu handles moulded as flying Dragons. Raised on a lavish cast ormolu base.  

Condition:  Superb condition with no losses to porcelain, very light wear to imari decoration. The metal parts have been professionally re-gold plated. Back and front views are alike. Wonderful "orange peel" appearance to porcelain.
