A Very Impressive Example of an English Oil Painting on Canvas depicting a Mountainous View and a large Lake possibly in Wales or Scotland with large Trees and sheep grazing, by well listed Artist Frank Hider complete with a fine heavy gilt frame.
Signed lower left F.Hider. Circa last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.

Condition: Professionally restored, small repair at back which does not show through, frame is of a later vintage.

Frank Hider 1861- 1933: Painted in oils and sometimes watercolours traditional views of coastal and rural landscapes. He lived at Forest Gate in Essex England for a number of years, also painted in parts of Europe and for a short time in Ireland, an Irish painting by him has never been recorded for sale.
