An Extremely Impressive and Rare Gilt Bronze French Table Casket, mid Nineteenth Century or earlier, of rectangular form raised on its original circular supports. The hinged lid with very fine cast decoration in relief of intricate scenes depicting cavaliers and a lady with a dog beside an open fire in landscape. This superb decoration is also on all four sides of similar scenes
Base mark: AB Paris for Albert Bargas – a respected French medal maker renowned for his skilled and detailed work.
Also marked Mansfiled Dublin who were Irish retailers in Grafton Street Dublin Ireland during the Nineteenth Century.
Condition: Very good with no losses, this piece has been professionally re-gold plated.
